Ski Mask With a Face on It
Not eye holes and a mouth slot: a whole cartoon face, right on the front of a yellow knit mask.
If you've been searching for a ski mask with a face on it, here's what Blockhead actually looks like. It's a full-face knit balaclava in bright yellow with a blocky head shape and a small knit knob on top. The front has thick black eyebrows and one of four expressions under a wide goggle opening. You see the face, not the person, which is the whole point.
A ski mask with a face on it, not just eye holes
A regular balaclava gives you a slot for your eyes and maybe one for your mouth. Blockhead turns the front of the mask into a character. The eyebrows sit above the goggle opening, so when you put your goggles on they look like a pair of cartoon eyes under a frown or a raised brow. The expression sits below, where your mouth would be. From a few feet away the whole thing reads as one face, which is why it shows up so well in photos and video.
What each face looks like
- Tongue Out: a cheeky smile with a red tongue sticking out.
- Big Grin: a wide open smile with a row of white teeth (smiley face ski mask).
- Chomp: the biggest grin of the four, packed with teeth on the top and bottom rows.
- Smirk: a sly one-sided smirk.
Seeing out: one wide goggle opening
The eye area is a single wide opening sized for ski goggles, so you see the slope the way you normally do. Your goggles go on over the knit like usual. They're not included; the goggles in our product photos are styling. The mask is a single stretchy polyester size for adult heads about 22–23 in (56–59 cm), and it sits comfortably beneath most helmets.
Looking after it
Hand wash cold and lay flat to dry. That keeps the knit in shape for next season. If it isn't right for you, you have 30 days from delivery to return a mask that's unworn and unwashed.
